Tasting notes
Deep purple. Layered black cherry, crushed stone and dried thyme. Elevated fresh acidity that's well balanced against the concentration of fruit and fine-grained tannin. Elegant. Lovely. Long. (SCJ)

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon showed beautifully, with remarkable purity and elegance. Cassis, blackberries, toasted spice, tobacco, and some chocolaty notes all emerge from this beauty, which is medium to full-bodied and concentrated, with a pure, layered mouthfeel and velvety tannins that emerge on the finish. It's rock star of a Napa Cabernet offering richness as well as elegance.
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is quite a bit more elegant than most wines in this vintage. Silky tannins and floral top notes make a strong first impression. Plum, spice and sweet tobacco are nicely lifted by bright acids. The 2019 is impeccably balanced. A move to emphasize Clone 337 in this blend has paid off nicely. This is a terrific showing.
Crushed stone, pencil shavings and mocha notes mark the nose of Heimark's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon. Full-bodied and creamy-velvety in feel, with a long, softly dusty finish, this vintage just seems to lack a bit of fruit expression, with much of the flavor coming from the élevage. Still, there's definitely strong underlying material in the dark berry spectrum, and I'm optimistic about the wine's future development.
