Opening in the glass with notions of citrus oil, yellow orchard fruit, beeswax and fresh pastry, the 2018 Chablis Vieilles Vignes Sélection Massale is medium to full-bodied, satiny and structured, with fine depth at the core, chalky extract and a saline finish. If this is generally an open, demonstrative vintage for the region—especially at this level—this is one bottling with the substance to age with grace.

The 2018 Chablis Vieilles Vignes Sélection Massale is a fabulous wine with tremendous potential. Deep and exquisitely layered, the 2018 possesses lovely aromatic complexity to play off a core of pliant, layered fruit. Silky, perfumed and very pretty, the 2018 has so much to offer. There is a lot to like about this expressive wine.
