Tasting notes
Medium garnet. Perhaps a bit more developed than you'd expect but has a pretty, iodine-y, sweet-red-cherry, rose-like profile. Firm tannin and long, very tangy acidity. Lovely wine. (SCJ)

Savory cranberries with a hint of caramel, tar, wet leaf, oranges and a hint of watermelon candy. Lots of firm, chalky tannins tightly wind up the palate with bright acidity. Good varietal transparency plus nice austerity. Drink now or hold.
Shimmering red. Lively, sharply focused aromas of fresh red berries and cherry on the nose; floral and succulent herb notes build in the glass. Tangy and energetic in the mouth, offering penetrating red currant, bitter cherry, blood orange and candied rose flavors that deepen steadily through the back half. Harmonious tannins frame the finish, which lingers with resonating florality.
The 2018 Nebbiolo, like the rest of the Giornata portfolio, remains true to the classic Italian style of the grape while embracing its generous California fruit. Pale garnet, it offers pleasantly rustic aromas of dried red berries, desiccated rose petals, leather and orange peel with earthy tones. The medium-bodied palate is bright and lifted with fine, grainy tannins, bursts of juicy acidity and layered, amaro-like spices on the long finish.
