Tasting notes
Inky ruby. Smoky cherry and dark berry scents are complemented by vanilla and licorice, with a hint of pipe tobacco in the background. Fleshy and smooth in texture, offering plump blackberry and cherry-vanilla flavors and a touch of bitter chocolate. Closes warm and gently sweet, with repeating smokiness, smooth tannins and a late kick of peppery spices.

The 2010 Signature Cabernet Sauvignon is raised in French oak for 12 months and stainless steel for a further five months. It has a lifted raspberry and cocoa scented nose that is missing a little delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, dry tannins and a nice build towards a red currant and cranberry driven finish with crisp acidity lending sharpness, but not quite the harmony I expect for the price. Drink 2013-2018. Importer: Global Vineyard Imports, Berkeley, CA; tel. (510) 527-5877
