The deep purple-hued 2018 Côte Rôtie Fongeant is another pure, full-bodied, seamless wine that has an incredible floral character as well as classic gamey, peppery nuances. Fermented with a decent amount of stems and brought up in used oak, its purity of fruit is stunning. It needs 4-5 years of bottle age but will evolve for 15-20 years with ease.

The 2018 Côte Rôtie Fongeant offers up hints of black cherries and cola on the nose, with perhaps the merest hint of caramelized fruit—or is it barrel toast? It's full-bodied and velvety, supple and ripe, with a long, elegant finish.
