There is no doubting the style sought by St. Francis. No-holds-barred, big, oaky, full-throttle Zinfandels are the rule at this Sonoma winery. The deep ruby-colored 2001 Zinfandel Rowe Vineyard reveals plenty of spicy American wood along with notes of dried herbs, pepper, resiny elements, and jammy black currant and cherry fruit.
