Tasting notes
The 2017 Pinot Noir Bien Nacido Vineyard - N Block is one of the more reticent wines in this lineup today. Dark cherry, game, smoke, licorice, dried herbs and menthol give the N Block terrific aromatic presence. There is plenty of depth, but I don’t see the pedigree of the very best editions. Even so, the 2017 is perfumed, gracious and light on its feet, with lovely aromatic complexity and nuance. The N Block was done with fully destemmed fruit.

Pale to medium ruby, the 2017 Pinot Noir Bien Nacido Vineyard Block N features tangerine peel, garrigue, lilac, licorice and sliced blueberry aromas with accents of cranberry, wild blackberries, earth, dust and woodsmoke. The light to medium-bodied palate is earthy with chalky tannins and integrated freshness, finishing long and spicy. 143 cases produced.
