As to the reds, the 2018 Aspire is mostly Syrah blended with 16% Grenache. Black raspberries, hot stones, graphite, and peppery spice all emerge from this blockbuster Syrah that’s full-bodied, ripe, and opulent. It’s a monster of a wine that brings the richness and power, yet it stays beautifully balanced as well. I like it today, yet I see no reason it shouldn’t evolve for a decade. This is one of the best lineups I’ve seen from Law Estate, and across the board, these are ripe, sexy, yet balanced wines that deliver the goods. They’re not for those looking for lightweight aromas and flavors but have incredible intensity while still showing balance, purity, and structure. Count me impressed.
