Tasting notes
Deep garnet-purple, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Coombsville has a vibrant nose of crushed black currants, red plums and red currants with touches of yeast extract, cedar box, pencil lead, dried Mediterranean herbs and beef drippings. Medium-bodied, the palate is wonderfully elegant and fully ripe/expressive, with tons of black and red fruit flavor layers and a mineral element supported by fine-grained tannins and harmonious freshness. It finishes with great persistence. This will challenge your preconceptions of Napa Cabernet! Should go on for 25+ years. 500 cases were made.

About the producer

Often confused with Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars, Stags’ Leap Winery is another Stags Leap District estate. With a long history, its Petite Sirah has cult status among aficionados, although – like most Napa estates – it produces a range of Cabernet Sauvignon wines.
