Tasting notes
Named for the loamy soils underlying this portion of the Grace Benoit Ranch, the 2020 Pinot Noir Laniger is mainly Clone 115, plus a bit of Martini. It's rich and ripe, marked by almost-plummy black cherries, plus a hint of smoked meat. It's medium to full-bodied, open-knit, then a bit chewy and tannic on the finish, yet with bright acids.

The 2020 Pinot Noir Laniger Grace Benoist Ranch emerges from an east-facing slope at Grace Benoist. Rich and ample, the 2020 has plenty of volume, as all these 2020s do. There is a bit more of red-toned profile in the fruit along with a real sensation of voluptuousness. Game, iron, incense and blood orange add an exotic flair. This is very good for the year.
