Aged 11 months in 40% new French oak, the 2015 Chardonnay Fogstone Vineyard is more fresh and lively, with lots of citrus, spice and toasted bread notes in a medium-bodied, elegant, seamless package. It's another terrific white from this team that's going to age gracefully.
Vivid yellow-gold. Pungent aromas of candied pear, yellow peach and honey pick up a smoky mineral nuance as the wine stretches out. Pliant and focused on the palate, showing impressive depth to the juicy, mineral-laced orchard and pit fruit flavors. Rich yet energetic as well; a sexy floral note emerges on the back half. Finishes silky, gently sweet and very persistent, displaying lingering floral and mineral notes.
