Pale bright yellow. Pure, subtle nose offers white peach, flowers and minerals, plus hints of menthol and brown spices. Quite dry and understated, even a bit ungiving, with a brisk grapefruit flavor joined by citrus peel on the slightly dusty finish. I wanted a bit more fruit intensity. (A second bottle was slightly more tart on the back end.)

About the producer

Stag's Leap Wine Cellars
Warren Winiarski founded Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars in 1970 when he purchased the Stag’s Leap Vineyard in Napa’s Stags Leap District. The 1973 S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon – only the second vintage – won the famous 1976 Judgement of Paris blind tasting, rocketing the estate to fame.
