Score 95/100 · Drink 2019-2034, Jeb Dunnuck, Nov 2019

From a site in Stags Leap and all Cabernet Sauvignon brought up in 70% new French oak, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon South Hill offers a more floral, spicy, complex style as well as a beautiful, full-bodied mouthfeel, sweet tannins, and stunning balance. With beautiful cassis fruits, a touch of classy background oak, and the class and purity that makes this vintage so special, drink this beauty over the coming 15-20 years.

Score 95/100 · Drink 2024-2036, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Dec 2018

The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon South Hill is dense and quite structured, with a highly appealing interplay of hillside structure and valley floor fruit that emerges from this lower-hillside parcel. Deep and concentrated, with terrific depth, the 2016 has a lot going on. Dark cherry, plum, lavender, spice and new leather wrap around the potent finish. This is one of the more powerful, resonant wines in the range.
