Tasting notes
Inky ruby. Intense aromas of cassis, blackberry, cherry cola and licorice are complemented by pungent floral, vanilla and exotic spice flourishes. Velvety, broad and alluringly sweet, offering concentrated dark berry preserve, candied violet and fruitcake flavors that show excellent clarity and tension. Finishes very long and smoky, with sneaky tannins and building florality.

Medium ruby, it opens with a perfume of blood orange, crushed blackcurrants, boysenberries, tar, earth and citrus peel. The medium-bodied palate offers fresh fruits in a grainy frame, and it finishes long and perfumed. 221 cases produced.
The 2017 Syrah Three-Four has a touch more Mourvèdre (93% Syrah and 7% Mourvèdre) and saw 10% stems and 18 months in 64% new French oak. This classic Paso Robles beauty has tons of black raspberry and cassis fruits, notes of Asian spices, graphite, ground pepper, and flowery incense. It delivers full-bodied richness, sweet tannins, and a big, fleshy yet balanced mouthfeel. Drink it any time over the coming decade.
