100% Blaufränkisch. Looks older than the 2012! And smells more developed. Violets and very burgundian. Sweet and pretty and seductive. But delicate too. A really gorgeous wine. (JR)

The 2013 Spitzerberg opens pure and floral on the concentrated nose. On the palate, this is a concentrated, dense and juicy Blaufränkisch with firm tannins, grip and tension. Again, this is a red that was fighting for ripeness but finally achieved it in combination with remarkable concentration, acidity and tension. This is a great Spitzerberg that is concentrated, firm and fresh but not as generous or flowing free over the palate like the 2015.
