Tasting notes
Josselin’s 2020-based NV Cuvée des Jean, disgorged in January 2025 with a dosage of 2.5 grams per liter, derives from parcels in Gyé-sur-Seine planted to Pinot Noir. It unwinds in the glass with aromas of pear, white peach, orange zest and freshly baked bread. Medium- to full-bodied, ample and vinous, it’s layered and textural, with a broad attack, ripe yet racy acids and a pillowy mousse, concluding with a long, intensely saline finish.

The NV Champagne Cuvée des Jean Extra Brut, also made from 100% Pinot Noir, is floral with wild raspberry, orange peel, and wet stone. The palate is more giving and generous within a medium frame, with fresh red apple, grapefruit pith, parmesan, and a chalky textured finish. It is well-suited as an aperitif for near-term drinking. Drink 2022-2026.
