The deep ruby/purple-colored 2015 Château Le Chatelet checks in as a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc brought up in 50% new oak. Notes of uber ripe cherries, black licorice, toasty oak, violets, and graphite all emerge from this lifted, concentrated, promising 2015 that has some gangly edges, yet plenty to like. It should be better in a year, as well as easier to read where this is going.
