The 2008 Blanc de Noirs Millésime is similarly compelling, delivering a complex bouquet of honeycomb, golden orchard fruit, beeswax, petrol, smoke and freshly baked bread. Medium to full-bodied, taut and incisive and concentrated, with a racy spine of acidity and a long, penetrating finish, it's more uncompromising than the more giving 2013. It's a blend of equal parts ungrafted Pinot Meunier growing in sand and Pinot Noir.
The 2008 Millésimé Blanc de Noirs shows plenty of cut, although it is quite accessible for the year. That is in relative terms, of course.
