2015 Susana Balbo Crios de Susana Balbo Torrontés

(60% from Cafayate and 40% from Mendoza; 20% fermented in concrete eggs for texture, according to Susana Balbo): Delicate, scented aromas and flavors of white peach, ripe grapefruit, white flowers, mint and honeysuckle accented by tangy white pepper and brown spices. Bracing and intense; very clean despite the El Niño rains in 2015. Quite dry (actually, two grams per liter r.s.) and perhaps a bit lacking in texture but long on flavor and very refreshing. Seems drier than the 2014 version and more serious.
