Tasting notes
Ruby-red. Explosively perfumed nose offers aromas of red and dark berry preserves, flowers and incense, along with notes of woodsmoke and star anise. Sappy and penetrating, with excellent clarity to its sweet black raspberry and cherry-cola flavors. Rich yet impressively vibrant, finishing with outstanding thrust and persistent florality.

The 2008 Pinot Noir Cargasacchi is a beautifully balanced wine laced with expressive fruit. Soft, silky tannins add an impression of elegance and finesse. This mid-weight, understated Pinot is sexy and supple from start to finish.
The 2008 Pinot Noir Cargasacchi is a beautifully balanced wine laced with expressive fruit. Soft, silky tannins add an impression of elegance and finesse. This mid-weight, understated Pinot is sexy and supple from start to finish. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2016. The Chardonnays and Pinots are the highlights among these new releases from Bonaccorsi Wine Company. I was less enamored with the 2007 Syrahs I tasted. The Pinots are vinified with indigenous yeasts and spend 18 months in French oak barrels, 60% new for all wines except the Melville, which gets 70%. Tel. (310) 994-3207; www.bonawine.net
Bright ruby. Wonderfully complex, heady aromas of dark berries, cherry compote, minerals and potpourri. Suave, sweet and fine-grained, offering sweet red and dark berry flavors as well as suave floral pastille and spicecake flavors. Offers an admirable combination of density and high-pitched spiciness, finishing with impressive clarity and length.
