Score 90/100 · Drink 2003-2013, Robert Parker, Aug 2003

The serious 2001 Shiraz St. Jakobi is fashioned from 28-year old vines. It is loaded with fruit as well as alcohol (15%). However, the alcohol is well-hidden by the wealth of glycerin and concentration. It is a full-bodied, deep, chewy, fragrant Shiraz with excellent purity, a layered mouthfeel, and a long, concentrated finish. Drink it over the next 8-10 years.
