Tasting notes
Harbison's 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon The Trail is gorgeous. Sweet floral and red stone fruits, mocha and espresso are all given an extra kick of energy and tension from the beams of supporting tannin. The Trail emerges from Block 2, where Clone 337 Cabernet gives a floral and distinctly red-toned expression of this site. Sensual and inviting, the 2014 will drink well with minimal cellaring.

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon The Trail, which is slightly different than its older sibling, is 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc aged in equal parts Taransaud and Darnajou barrels. This wine exhibits serious ripeness, great integrity of fruit purity, loads of crème de cassis and blackberry, some licorice, truffle and smoke. It is full-bodied, opulent, and sexy. Drink it over the next 15-20 years.
