Score 88/100 · Drink 1992-2007, Robert Parker, Jun 1992
Another surprisingly fine 1989, this wine was clearly made from undiluted, ripe fruit. The big nose of spicy vanillin, ripe cassis, and herbs is followed by a rich, full-bodied wine with plenty of glycerin, extraction of flavor, and purity. The moderately soft tannins in the long finish suggest this wine will age for 10-15 years, although it can be drunk now. Impressive!
