Score 90/100 · Drink 2014-2024, Robert Parker, Oct 2014
Named after the founder of Stags Leap Winery, the outstanding 2012 The Investor is a blend of 40% Merlot, 40% Petite Sirah and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. Ripe blackberry and blackcurrant fruit intermixed with notions of chocolate, lavender, unsmoked cigar tobacco and underbrush are present in this meaty, chewy, attractive, velvety textured 2012. Enjoy this well-made red over the next decade.

About the producer

Stags' Leap Winery
Often confused with Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars, Stags’ Leap Winery is another Stags Leap District estate. With a long history, its Petite Sirah has cult status among aficionados, although – like most Napa estates – it produces a range of Cabernet Sauvignon wines.
