The NV Champagne Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Prisme Extra Brut pours a pale yellow hue and shows beautifully upon opening, if not a touch shy on the nose, with ripe notes of lemon candies, salted pear, and fresh flowers. Medium-bodied, the silky texture shines brightly on the palate, and it has a fine mousse and a crystalline feel, with good length and energy that coasts through the clean, mouthwatering finish. Drink now or over the coming 8-10 years. This release is based on the 2019 vintage and is entirely Chardonnay. Disgorged in November 2023 with 2.5 grams per liter dosage.

Guiborat’s NV Blanc de Blancs Prisme.19, sourced from Les Caurés and Les Mont Aigu in Chouilly (planted between 1946 and 1998) and Bergeries in Cramant (planted in 1984), is based on the concentrated 2019 vintage, with 17% reserve wines from 2018. Without malolactic fermentation and matured on the lees for seven months in stainless steel, it was disgorged in November 2023 with 2.5 grams per liter dosage. Soaring from the glass with scents of fresh citrus fruit, hazelnuts and oyster shell, it is chiseled and precise, making it the most tightly wound wine in the range. Concentrated yet racy-fresh, based on great terroir and good farming, it is structured around chalky extract and electric acidity, concluding with a long, mineral finish. It is the most precise rendition of this cuvée since the 2016 base and comes warmly recommended.

The NV Extra-Brut Prisme . 17 is a taut, chiseled wine, based on the 2017 vintage with 13% reserve wines. Offering up notes of citrus zest, verbena, warm bread and fresh herbs, it's medium to full-bodied, elegantly textural and incisive, with racy acids underpinning an attractive core of ripe fruit.

Disgorged in December 2020, the NV Extra-Brut Prisme . 16 evokes citrus oil, fresh bread, white flowers and wet stones. Medium to full-bodied, layered and tightly wound, with a chiseled core of fruit that's girdled by bright acids, it's cooler in profile than its 2015 counterpart, with less flesh on its bones but plenty of concentration, concluding with a long, sapid finish. It will show even better with a bit more age on cork.
