Tasting notes
The 2016 Red Blend Homenaje is a new wine (I believe) and is an equal split of Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. This black/blue-colored effort offers a classy bouquet of crème de cassis, blueberries, sappy herbs, and damp earth/forest floor. With thrilling purity, full body, and a balanced, elegant, yet powerful style, it's another terrific wine from this team.

The 2016 Homenaje, Viader's Cabernet Sauvignon/Malbec blend, is bold, plump and juicy, all of which makes it an excellent choice for drinking now and over the next few years. Ripe red cherry, plum, white chocolate and floral notes add to the wine's considerable raciness and overall appeal.
Composed of equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec, the deep purple-black colored 2016 Red Blend Homenaje bursts out of the glass with fragrant notions of blackberry pie, redcurrant jelly, violets, baking spices and tilled red loam with scintillating nuances of lavender, black pepper and garrigue. Medium to full-bodied and relatively restrained in the mouth compared to the nose, it delivers layers of black fruits and earth-inspired flavors with a firm, grainy backbone and long, mineral-tinged finish.
