Tasting notes
A wild, gamy wine, the 2013 Pinot Noir Mt. Carmel is full of intrigue. A host of iron, blood and savory notes open up as this exotic Pinot shows off its incredibly distinctive personality. Incisive in its tannic structure and beautifully focused throughout, the 2013 is endowed with tons of energy. The salivating finish is striking in its beauty. Sandhi's Mt. Carmel captures the essence of this windswept site beautifully and in a much truer fashion than the Chardonnay. The 100% whole clusters are nicely integrated throughout.

Coming from a terrific vineyard (which is almost exclusively used by Sandhi and Mail Road Wines), the 2013 Pinot Noir Mt. Carmel exhibits lots of spice, pepper and forest floor notes to go with darker berry styled fruits. Firm, fresh, and elegant, yet still concentrated and textured, this is a gorgeously layered, balanced Pinot Noir that will drink nicely through 2023.
