Score 92/100 · Drink 2016-2030, Robert Parker, Oct 2016
The 2013 Proprietary Red Blend Benchmark is 97% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc, aged 20 months in 77% new French oak. This is a large-scale wine cutting a broad swath across the palate with plenty of blueberry, blackberry and cassis fruit, floral notes, forest floor and background toast. Tipping the scales at 15.1% alcohol, the wine has loads of glycerin as readers would suspect, beautiful purity and a long finish. This is a small cuvée of only 345 cases.
