Score 86/100 · Drink 2000, Robert Parker, Jan 2000
The ruby-colored 1997 Pinot Noir Reserve reveals metallic, white pepper, red berry, and cinnamon aromas. Light to medium-bodied, with flavors of bing cherries, this dry and tannic wine has some suppleness on the attack. Drink this offering over the next year, while the fruit has the upper hand over its structure. Tel: 503-628-1227

Medium red. Currant, cherry, blackberry, pepper and caraway seed on the perfumed nose, along with strong oak notes of smoke, clove, cinnamon and scotch. Lively for the vintage, with tangy red fruit flavors and moderate texture and depth. Quite oaky, though: the wood here seems to simultaneously sweeten and dry the wine.
