2020 Morgen Long Chardonnay Durant

The 2020 Chardonnay Durant Vineyard was picked on September 9, just as the wildfires were exploding in the Willamette Valley (but luckily before the smoke started to pour in). It comes from vines planted in 1999-2000 and was matured for around 11 months in 40% new oak. It has pure scents of peach, apricot and elderflower with nuances of beeswax and matchstick. The medium-bodied palate is satiny and expansive with savory, perfumed fruit, mouthwatering acidity and a very long, alluringly textural finish. Just 64 cases were made.
