Score 95/100 · Drink 2016-2026, Robert Parker, Oct 2016

The 2012 El Coco Proprietary Blend Composition is 50% old vine Zinfandel, 40% Petite Sirah, 8% Merlot and 2% Gamay. Eight hundred cases were made. Opaque in color, oodles of blueberry liqueur, white flowers, black raspberries, roasted Provençal herbs and Asian spice jump from the glass in the aromas as well as flavors. There’s a subtle background smoky taste of oak, a deep, full-bodied, huge, massive palate, and incredible finish and length. This is another big one at 15.5% natural alcohol. Drink it over the next decade.
