Tasting notes
Bright, deep ruby-red. Perfumed aromas of blackberry, licorice, violet, dark chocolate and minerals. Plush and moderately sweet in the mouth, with the dark berry flavors lifted by enticing floral perfume. Really builds subtly on the long, smooth, savory back end, with the fine-grained tannins giving shape to the wine. Very classy Syrah but it will need a few years in the cellar to express itself.

Slightly more modern styled, yet still playing in the classical, balanced style of the estate, the 2012 Syrah Nina Lee is 100% Syrah (all from the estate vineyard in Walla Walla) that spent 21 months in 50% new French oak. It has ample dark fruit to go with notes of vanilla bean, scorched earth, underbrush and spring flowers. Medium to full-bodied, seamless and beautifully textured, you can drink it today, or cellar it for a decade.
