The 2018 Red Wine is vividly fresh and floral, with pretty rose tones and spices complementing dusty black cherries. Soft and supple, this comes across vibrant and energetic, with juicy acidity, crisp red fruits and hints of orange zest. It finishes with a coating of fine-grained tannins and an airy inner freshness, leaving nuances of spice and florals that linger unbelievably long. Gorgeous structure and length, plus the move toward freshness by the current winemaking team, make the 2018 shine bright.

The 2018 Corliss Red Wine is also all from Red Mountain but is equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. It's another thrilling wine offering pure cassis and ripe cherry fruits, notes of spring flowers, tobacco, and damp earth, medium to full body, ripe, building tannins, and flawless balance. Brilliant any way you look at it, it will benefit from 3-4 years (at least) of bottle age and should keep for two decades. It's up with the crème de la crème of the vintage – and the state.

A blend of 53% Cabernet Franc and 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2018 Corliss Red Wine comes from the Canyons vineyard, Blackwood Canyon vineyard and Red Mountain vineyard, on Red Mountain. Opening the bottle, aromas of roasted plum, black cherry skin, spiced blackberry compote and roasted red pepper sway with a seductive oak essence that invites the nose to take in more of the wine's natural herbal expression that fills the glass. Impeccably balanced, the full-bodied and generously layered Cabernet blend unfolds its complexities in the mouth, showing a firm yet juicy frame with succulent tannins that melt across the mid-palate. Ending with a long winding and ever-evolving finish, the wine is incredibly complex and will no doubt be absolutely stunning when it is released in 2023. I look forward to revisiting this wine closer to its release date. Until then, it will rest in the bottle for a full 38 months before it's released into the wild. 6,573 bottles produced.
