Tasting notes
Medium red. Aromas of dark berries, cocoa powder and mocha; a bit low-toned and medicinal. Then fairly concentrated but dry in the mouth, with some alcoholic warmth. This could also use some more sweetness and freshness of fruit. Finishes dry, with chalky tannins.

The light ruby-hued 2004 Pinot Noir Cargasacchi Vineyard displays less aromatic intensity than the Close Pepe Vineyard(cherries, strawberries, and sweet oak), weight, and persistence, but a velvety-textured, medium-bodied style. It is completely different from the 2001 Cargasacchi Pinot Noir, which was a profoundly concentrated, dark purple monster. The 2004 should be consumed over the next 2-3 years. Tel.
