The 2021 Single Vineyard Series Loess is rich with a blend of crushed blackberries and plums complicated by dried roses and cedary spice. It's cool-toned and sleek, with radiant black fruits and crunchy mineral tones swirling beneath an air of violet inner florals. A web of fine-grained tannins adds youthful poise as the 2021 finishes with amazing length and a pleasantly chewy sensation, leaving behind hints of tart blackberry.

The 2021 Loess Vineyard (60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Malbec, and 20% Petit Verdot) sports a saturated purple hue as well as a beautiful array of red and black fruits, loamy earth, camphor, and savory herbs. It's rich, medium to full-bodied, has ample tannins, and enough tannins to warrant 2-4 years in the cellar. It shows the purity and class of this estate beautifully.

Beginning with a robust and juicy frame, the 2021 Loess Vineyard Red Wine is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Malbec and 20% Petit Verdot. Initially tight, this wine requires a swirl in the glass to unfold and fully reveal its intricacies. Spiced plum, black cherry and cigar box aromas emerge with dusty purple flowers, followed by brown baking spices. Full-bodied and with a generous mouthfeel and a tannic edge, this beauty demands at least one more year in the bottle to hit its stride. Decanting is recommended. The wine is set for release later this summer. The red blend aged for just under two years in brand-new French oak barrels. Only 720 bottles were filled.

This remarkable wine is handsomely structured but also gentle and generous at the same time. Aromas of graphite, cocoa, new leather and dried cherries meet broad blackberry, dried currant, cedar and black olive flavors in this impressively complex and complete wine. 60% cabernet sauvignon 20% malbec and 20% petit verdot. Drinkable now, but best from 2029.
