Tasting notes
Dark red. Wonderfully perfumed nose features intense sandalwood and patchouli-accented cherry and candied plum scents; reminds me of a ripe Dujac wine. Vibrant, incisive and pure, with impressively balanced red and dark fruit flavors, fine tannins and gentle acidity on the finish. A strong, smoky, almost iodine-y quality comes up with air, adding further complexity. This is really impressive.

The 2005 Syrah Eaglepoint Ranch exhibits deep blueberry and blackberry fruit along with floral and crushed rock-like characteristics in the background. This medium to full-bodied, slightly tannic Syrah should age nicely for a decade or more.
