Produced from ungrafted, dry-farmed vines, the 2015 Chardonnay Mt. Carmel offers up notes of hazelnut cream, preserved citrus, vanilla pod and honeycomb. On the palate, it's satiny, ample and delicately expansive, with bright acids, wonderful energy and a long, chalky finish.

Sandhi's 2015 Chardonnay Mt. Carmel is terrific. A host of mineral- and soil-driven tones give the wine much of its personality, an impression that is reinforced by the wine's intense, phenolic feel. There is a real sense of depth and density. Then again, this is Mt. Carmel, one of the most distinctive sites in Santa Barbara County.
