Tasting notes
Arkenstone's 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Godward Vineyard comes from a small vineyard off Manley Lane, replanted in 2001 and 2002 on a small bench across from Staglin. Scents of ripe cherries, dusty earth and dried spices show remarkable purity of fruit, not encumbered by a lot of new oak, which adds just a subtle spice note. Full-bodied, rich and plush, with a long, velvety and mouthwatering finish, it's a tremendous expression of valley-floor fruit from a hilltop winery.

A new single vineyard from this team, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Godward Vineyard is all Cabernet Sauvignon and comes from a great site in Rutherford that was previously used for Beaulieu s Georges De Latour release. Brought up all in new barrels, its deep purple hue is followed by a serious, concentrated, incredible wine offering pure cassis and darker currant fruits, classic Latour-like lead pencil, graphite, and chocolate, full-bodied richness, incredible purity, and building tannins. This thrilling, awesome wine will evolve for 30 years or more.
