Tasting notes
Aged in 70% new French oak, the 2011 Pinot Noir Alegria Hilliard Bruce Vineyard delivers a full, fleshy profile of sweet strawberries, wild flowers, incense and dried underbrush to go with a rich, mouth-filling texture, beautifully layered fruit and a clean, elegant finish. All about the fruit, this beauty should be consumed over the coming 7-8 years. Drink 2015-2023. Paul Lato continues to knock it out of the park and I can’t say enough about the quality coming from this estate. Across the board, the wines show classic, varietally correct profiles that always show finesse and elegance, yet back it up with layers of fruit and texture. Tel. Fragrant, expressive and impeccably polished, the 2011 Pinot Noir Alegria Hilliard Bruce Vineyard is a model of grace and elegance. This is a decidedly sexy Pinot. The high percentage of sand in this site yields fragrant, intensely perfumed Pinots. Silky tannins support the impeccable finish. The 2011 Hilliard Bruce is another hugely delicious Pinot from Paul Lato.
