More full and dense than the '09, the 2006 Lewis Cellars Syrah is one blockbuster of a Syrah that shows full throttle aromas of ripe blackberry, roasted herbs, melted licorice, chocolate, graphite, and smoked earth on the nose. Nothing shy or reserved about this and it's full-bodied on the palate with awesome concentration, a rich, thick texture, solid freshness and focus, and a decadent finish. Very ripe and almost amarone like given it's ripeness level, this is none the less beautifully put together and balanced on the palate and a joy to drink. It should be consumed over the coming 5-8 years or so.
