Tasting notes
Bright ruby-red. Inviting aromas of black fruits, licorice, chocolate and marzipan. Sweet dark fruit flavors are showy and a bit high-toned, but nicely integrated acidity and a stony quality give the wine shape and energy. Very successful for a Vistalba Malbec in 2016, finishing with serious but ripe tongue-dusting tannins and excellent breadth and length. This rather flamboyant wine wears its oak gracefully. (aged for 18 months in 60% new and 40% once-used French oak; reportedly from a crop level of just 1.2 tons per acre)

This is a really fine and polished malbec with crushed stones and blackberries. Full-bodied, yet reserved and beautiful. Seamless tannins and drive. It goes on for minutes. One of the best ever from here. Drinkable now, but will reward the patient. Try after 2023.
