Score 91/100 · Drink 2021-2031, Jeb Dunnuck, Apr 2020
The 2017 Syrah Voyageur comes from Walla Walla vineyards (Stone Valley, LeFore, and Les Collines) and is 93% Syrah and 7% co-fermented Viognier, all destemmed and aged 11 months in 30% new French oak. It's another bright, floral wine from this estate that has lots of bright cherry and mulberry fruits as well as ample spice, crushed flowers, candied orange, and hints of pepper. Medium-bodied, layered, and elegant on the palate, it's already approachable yet will benefit from a year or three of bottle age and keep for 7-8 years.
