Score 88/100 · Drink 2015-2022, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Mar 2015

The 2012 Pinot Noir Lorna Marie Cuvee sees 55% new French oak. It has a more upfront, fruit-driven bouquet than the Estate Grown Pinot Noir, with bold boysenberry and dark cherry scents. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, lithe and velvety in the mouth with dark cherries mixed with eucalyptus on the finish. It feels a little "full-on" but I wager that 12 months in bottle will see it attain more finesse.

Brilliant red. Aromas of black raspberry, mocha, spicecake and cola, with a bright mineral nuance adding urgency and lift. Palate-staining cherry-cola and red berry flavors show a deft blend of power and energy while picking up smoke and floral pastille qualities. Closes on a gently tannic note, with excellent clarity and length, leaving suave spice and candied rose notes behind.
