Tasting notes
The 2017 Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo is a vibrant translucent red color. It has an intensely fruity bouquet, showing raspberry and cherry preserves, sweet florals and exotic spices. The 2017 is round and supple with a burst of tart wild berry fruit enlivened by zesty acidity as a tangerine hint puckers the cheeks toward the close. This leaves the palate clenched with tension, still so youthful and poised as inner roses slowly fade. The 2017 is a testament to the age-ability of Cerasuolo.

The 2017 Amorotti Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo is seductive from the first tilt of the glass, reminding me of a Christmas bake shop, showing ripe black cherry with confectioners spice, a dusting of brown sugar and candied ginger. It then takes a more serious approach on the palate, displaying silky textures offset by zesty acids, tart citrus and mineral tones, tugging at the cheeks with youthful tannin but also urging the mouth to water, as a note of floral-laced red berries slowly tapers off.
