Tasting notes
Now in its second vintage here, 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Saunders Vineyard is gorgeous. Racy and layered in the glass, the 2015 captures the essence of this hillside sector of eastern Oakville. Super-ripe red cherry, plum, licorice, lavender and spice are some of the many notes that are fused together. The aromatics and fruit are really popping in this gorgeous hillside Cabernet. Beams of underlying minerality and tannin carry through to the super-expressive finish.

The largest scaled wine in the lineup goes to the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Saunders Vineyard. This puppy offers a massive, opulent, incredibly concentrated style, that, like all great wines, somehow manages to stay balanced, layered and light on the palate. From a new vineyard for Bevan that consists of red soils, it’s loaded with notions of black and blue fruits, chocolate, graphite, lead pencil, and spice. Mouthfilling, opulent, hedonistic, yet seamless, it’s not for lovers of old-school Claret but is an amazing Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon!
