Tasting notes
A rich, explosive wine, the 2013 Syrah Williamson-Doré Vineyard hits the palate with tremendous intensity of fruit, heady aromatics and phenomenal length. Polished, silky tannins give the Williamson-Doré a bit more roundness and overt opulence than is found in the Tinaquaic, but there is no shortage of structure beneath. The resonant, inky finish makes it impossible to resist a second taste, and then a third. What a gorgeous wine this is.

The 2013 Syrah Williamson-Doré Vineyard is shaping up to be a real beauty. Deep, powerful and structured, the 2013 possesses superb depth, with plenty of dark, varietal Syrah fruit and enough intensity to drink well for many years. Next to the sturdier Tinaquaic Syrah, the Williamson-Doré is a bit richer and sweeter through the middle. Both wines are superb and full of potential. The 2013 is 100% Syrah.
Made from 100% Syrah that was aged 20 months in 30% new French and Hungarian oak puncheons, the inky colored 2013 Syrah Williamson Dore Vineyard exhibits terrific notes of plums, blackberries, smoked earth, olive and assorted meatiness. Medium to full-bodied, focused, elegant and with awesome purity, it will certainly be an outstanding wine that will have a decade or more of longevity.
