Score 93/100 · Drink 2021-2029, Jeb Dunnuck, Jan 2021

Another elegant Rhône wine from this estate, the 2018 Grenache Paras Vineyard comes from a vineyard on Mount Veeder and is 100% destemmed Grenache brought up in one-third new French oak. Lots of white flowers, white pepper, framboise, and a touch of rocky earth give way to a medium-bodied, seamless Grenache that’s drinking beautifully today. It will keep for 7-8 years with no issues.

Medium ruby-purple in color, the 2018 Grenache Paras Vineyard sails out of the glass with notions of kirsch, black raspberries and spice cake plus hints of smoked meats, garrigue, Sichuan pepper and underbrush in the background. Full-bodied, the palate is laden with perfumed red and black fruits, supported by soft, rounded tannins and seamless freshness, delivering a spicy kick on the finish. 104 cases were made.
