Tasting notes
Garnatxa, Carinyena, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah. Very good nose, deep and intense with lots of savoury fruit, a touch of damson and a mineral lift. It has aged well. Elegant and with resolved tannins. Medium concentration but well-defined and expressive. Touch of savouriness on the back palate. Very harmonious for a 2005 Priorat. (FC)

(50% carinena and 50% garnacha) Ruby-red. Ripe raspberry and candied cherry aromas are complicated by smoked meat, anise and roasted coffee. Deep, sweet and lightly chewy, picking up supple tannins with air. Liqueur-like red berry flavors offer palate-staining intensity but no excess weight or warmth. Finishes with impressive cling and a suave echo of baking spices.
The 2005 Coster is an old-vine cuvee composed of 50% Garnacha and 50% Carinena, the two original grapes of Priorato. It was aged for 12 months in barrique. More fragrant and complex than the Tradition, the nose is dominated by the Garnacha component with its enticing cherry aromatics. On the palate, the wine is smooth-textured, sweet, and layered with flavor. With superb depth and length, this Priorat will be at its best between 2012 and 2025.
