Tasting notes
Good bright, dark red. Aromas of maraschino cherry, raspberry, mocha, chocolate and earth. Supple and juicy, with a restrained sweetness. This is very easy zinfandel to drink. Finishes with fairly easy tannins and lovely lingering sweetness. (My bottle of the 2003 version was distinctly porty and overripe.)

Blue, black fruits along with crushed stone and floral scents emerge from the dense ruby/purple-colored 2002 Zinfandel Mayacamas Range. This medium to full-bodied Zinfandel possesses considerable class as well as nobility. It is a Zinfandel with the complexity of Pinot Noir and the substance of Syrah. Enjoy it over the next decade. Kudos to Jerry Seps, who began his wine career working for Joel Peterson and Joe Swan, two legendary northern California Zinfandel producers. Tel. (707) 942-5310
