The 2021 Trousseau (Sonoma County), from Bohan, is laced with sweet dried cherry, mint, tobacco, cedar and dried flowers. Whole clusters lend tons of savory complexity and a bit of gentle tannic grip, too. Ethereal and gracious, the Trousseau is nuanced and very, very pretty.

From the Bohan ranch, grafted over from Merlot growing at 1,500 ft just 1.4 miles from the Pacific next to Peter Michael and Marcassin. Passalacqua usually makes 200 cases but he could sell 2,000. The grapes rot easily and ripen unevenly. Very pale strawberry colour. Very fruity and fresh and totally charming. I love it! Soft and gentle. With a little rose flavour. Though maybe not a long-term wine. (JR)
